NLC was created over 25 years ago by Christopher Wood. Christopher grew up in Decatur, GA. As a teenager, he was mowing his neighbor's yards on the weekends, using his mother's old mower. He always like being outdoors and being productive. After a while, he was able to afford a better mower and a blower. That was the beginning of Neighborhood Lawn Care. He put flyers in mailboxes, and with referrals, word to mouth, he started to develop his little side job into a real part time job while going to college.
Slowly, he was able to buy a trailer, and service other neighborhoods in the Decatur area.

In 2003, Christopher married Stephanie, near Paris in France. Stephanie was born in France. They met back in 1994 when Stephanie was in Atlanta for an exchange student program. Before coming to the U.S. she was an account executive in an advertising firm in Paris. In 2004, she joined him with NLC and used her business, marketing and advertising background to help him develop the business. She took over the books, scheduling, advertising, and marketing. Stephanie even worked the yards, doing lawn maintenance. She worked the yards along Christopher until she was expecting their first child Ellie. At the end of 2005, they employed their first crew member to help Christopher.

Christopher always showed an interest in landscaping, hardscaping, irrigation, and everything yard related. He started to study, read, attend landscaping, and design classes, hardscape installation classes, and irrigation system repair and installation classes at John Deer Landscape school. He watched other contractors, learned from them and practiced. With time, he was able to add more services to Neighborhood Lawn Care portfolio. Taking the business from a lawn maintenance only, to a full landscaping company.

Today, Neighborhood Lawn Care, LLC is a small-size company. Our lawn care and landscaping crews cover some of Dekalb and Gwinnett County. Most of Christopher's first clients are still working with us today.

June 2020, we purchased the 'old Greg's Nursery' across from the Aquatic Center, near Kroger at 1132 Rockbridge Rd SW Stone Mountain. We renovated the whole property and after a year and half of renovations we opened our doors to the public in September of 2021.

Christopher is the baseball Commissioner 10U league and also a volunteer baseball coach for the 12U league. He is the Landscape Director of the Mountain Park Athletic Association. If you wish to volunteer with him, and participate in the Park landscape's work, you can

We also give back and help our community the best we can: by donating time, materials and expertise to local associations and schools. We also sponsor local schools and events.
